Left Sydney mid afternoon on the Friday and had a great trip to Shoal Bay. Mum and Dad were already there and waiting and had picked up our security code from reception. On arrival we were thrilled to see that we had one of the only drive through sites in the park. Dave is getting better with his reversing skills but it was a relief to not have to juggle reversing the van in the dark.
Saturday morning we bravely setup the awning with all fingers and toes crossed that Jayco had finally properly fixed the awning. After a shakey looking start it appears that finally everything there is OK. The annex walls went on easily and finally it looks like we have a good waterproof setup.
The kids were happy playing tennis at the tennis court in the park. A $5 deposit gave you 2 raquets and 2 balls. Jade couldn't believe that you could spend the money, get it back again and then re-spend it again, the money that you just can't get rid off. This was a great novaltee for both the kids and I'm sure drove the office staff mad!
Later on the Saturday afternoon we thought we'd test out the new 12 volt power point that we paid Jayco to install inside the van. The very same one that didn't work that they sent someone all the way from Newcastle to fix. Well guess what...surprise surprise it still doesn't work - NOT HAPPY, I don't want to be them when Dave rings them on Monday!!
The rest of the weekend went on without a hitch. Fathers Day Sunday dawned a beautiful morning that we spent wandering around the local markets, sitting in the sun and enjoying fish and chips.
Sadly all good things must come to an end so we had packed up and head home after lunch. We are certainly getting better at the setup and pack up routine. A few more weekends away for extra practise might have to suffered though - what a shame!
