A long weekend escape

We've headed away back to the bay for the long weekend, thought we'd escape the city and head away for some fresh air and sunshine.

Left home on Saturday morning and checked into Halifax Caravan Park a few hours later.  We've stayed here before but not for a few years.  They've made some changes to the park, put in some new cabins and done up all their old cabins - they look very nice.  We are on site 21 - a great spot tucked in behind a big hill that will shelter us from any wind.  Few things were forgotton from home - some of them important - ie power cord for the van - highly important so Dave headed to his favourite shop "Bunnings" to source one for us.

The fine weather didn't last for long and pretty soon we found ourselves being blustered about in the wind and the rain.  Lucky for us the hill provided much protection from the wind however nothing could protect us from the rain.

Sunday morning we awoke after heavy rain all night to discover that the van roof leaked AGAIN!  Another call the Jayco and we have to take it back to them on Wednesday for them to have another go at fixing it (here's hoping it's 6th time lucky!!)

Sunday was spent sitting in the van reading, watching television, and reading a bit more.  It was too wet to even put your nose outside the van.  Popped to the shops for a little retail therapy but other than that the day was spent in the van.

O'h and Jade and Dave made a very yummy trip to the shops out the front for some yummy hot chips and a delish passionfruit slice (courtesy of Jade - so yummy!)

Fingers crossed that tomorrow will be better...
