Finally

Believe it or not, that is Dave on a wave - only his 2nd surf since we left home.  Desperate times call for desperate measures.  The wave wasn't great but he got a bit of a ride at least.  Jade and I were happy also as the beach he left us on was covered in tiny shells.  We sat for an age (even after he was out of the water) collecting these perfect tiny coloured shells.  The inner child in me is once again full filled and I have more treasures to carry around with us for the next couple of weeks!

Speaking of the next couple of weeks its now official Dave has the best boss in the whole world - he spoke to him this morning and he has OK'd another weeks leave so now we can start making firm plans to go to Exmouth and Coral Bay, we will now only just make it back in time for the school term starting.  Its such a long way to come over here though and we really don't know when or if we'll get back so need to maximise every moment.  We really are so very lucky to be able to do this, each day is a gift and we must treasure it.

Took the kids snorkelling this morning at Blue Holes.  They thought it was fantastic, now I don't mean to sound like a snob but compared to the diving and snorkelling we've done previously this was pretty poor - looking forward to much much better snorkelling now that we're going to Exmouth!

If you look real hard you can see a fish or 2...

Today was pretty warm and the sun was really intense so we had to hide for a couple of hours in the middle of the day.  We easily filled the time in relaxing by the pool and kicking back reading books around the van.

Headed off for a bit of sight seeing in the afternoon.  Visited Red Bluff..

Then headed to Pot Holes and wandered down the path to the beach there.  The water was very treacherous and not safe for swimming however the scenery and the rocks are so stunning.  The colours are just amazing and seem so wrong compared to what we are used too.  The red of the rocks and the dirt is really deep and quite stunning next to the beautiful blue of the water.  Makes the rocks and headlands at home look very plain and boring really.

Dave has been having some pain in his back, must be really bad cause he made and appointment to see a physio in town this afternoon.  He is feeling much better now.

Whilst he was at the physio the kids and I went for a walk down Chinamen's beach.  There was a very hungry cheeky pelican down there desperate for a feed.  The fishermen really had to watch their catch as he was ready and waiting.

We drove around to another beach - not sure what its name is to watch the sunset.  Not as impressive as we've become used too as there were no clouds in the sky tonight but nice just the same.

A beautiful end to a gorgeous day, as I write this tonight I am sitting out under the stars, there is not a breath of wind and the temperature is just perfect.  Tom said this afternoon I love this place, I could easily stay here for another week, I think we are all feeling the same....
