Tomeree Headland Walk

Awoke this morning to a clearer day, some blue sky and still windy.  We thought we'd make the most of the improved weather so headed off to walk Tomeree Headland.  We were surprised by the number of cars in the carpark, it appears its a pretty popular walk to do.

The walk to the headland is only 1km up, fairly steep in places but paved or metal stairs and walkways all the way.  The grading on the sign said moderate.  The kids took off at a good pace full of excitement to be out in the fresh air, Jade soon slowed down once she realised that climbing up the top meant just that, walking up hill all the way.  Tom was out in front as the leader of the pack - "scaring the snakes away" and "setting the pace".

The walk was very scenic with some lovely views once we reached the top.  The walk back down was pretty quick with no complaints from the kids!!

Came back to camp and grabbed the ball and headed down to the beach just out the front.  Access is direct from the caravan park to the beach.  The kids had fun kicking and heading the ball backwards and forwards and Dave and I just enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine.

After lunch it was Tom's shout for treats today.  The kids very determined to do it on their own headed off to the shop out the front.  Tom bought me a lovely piece of passionfruit slice and Jade kindly shouted Mars bars for herself, Tom and Dave.

We spent some time fiddling with how things can be packed in the car boot and the van boot - still trying to find the best fit for everything before our trip to Perth.

The weather has greyed up again so spent sometime on some more retail therapy before coming back to the van.  Kids had a skateboard around the park for a bit before the rain came again and we've all had to be locked up back inside again.  Nothing as heavy as yesterday but sure puts a dampner on things.

Hoping for a fine morning tomorrow so we can packup dry.

Currently our biggest problem of the day....where shall we go for dinner!!
