A dog of a rock

A bit of a lay today...

Began with all 3 kids heading off to the skatepark whilst I went for a nice long walk along the beach.  Its amazing how tuned in my eyes became to finding the good shells whilst walking at a fair pace whilst chatting to Mum and Dad at the same time - talk about multi-tasking.

I came back to the van to find that the kids hadn't taken their keys with them and had had to breakin in order to be able to start breakfast - hmm security is high in our home away from home!

Headed into Albany to do check out the town and do some shopping - after being in tiny country towns for most of the last 2 weeks the shock of City traffic and having to fight for car spaces has reminded us of what we're not missing at home.

The Western Australians sure like their rocks - near the centre of town is Dog Rock.

Went for a short drive out to the other end of Emu Beach and had some hot chips ($8.00 for a serve - talk about a rip off!!!) but the view was lovely.

This afternoon we went to Mt Romance.  Jade was disappointed when we got there as it wasn't a mountain at all rather a Sandalwood Factory.  We spent a short amount of time on a tour listening to the story of the sandalwood and then did some retail therapy in the gift shop - the products are beautiful and needless to say tonight I smell like sandalwood!

We stopped by the carwash and cleaned up the car - this was a much needed exercise, its still not perfect but much better than it was!

Finished off with a stop in at Middleton Beach.  Dave's surfboard finally got to come down off the roof and get wet - only thing was, he wasn't riding it Jade was....
