Wish you were here...

What a day, our own little slice of heaven!!

Today we ventured into Cape Le Grand National Park a short 40ish km drive out of Esperance.  Our first stop was Frenchmens Peak.  This is a massively steep granite rock.  The signage says 2 hours of HARD walking to reach the summit and return.  We weren't sure if we would make it all the way to the top with the kids but though we'd give it a go and see how far we made it, see for yourself its quite a walk!!

Steep hey!!

We all made it!!  The view from the top was incredible you could see forever!  The walk down was easier than we thought and the kids managed it really well!!

We spent the rest of the day driving around the different beaches and bays and walking around the rocks, along the sand and just living the life.  Its amazing how different sand is in different places.  The sand here is really hard and super squeaky.  It sounds and feels like ice when you walk on it.

There are still quite a lot of wild flowers out which makes the bush so much more colourful - it must be really spectacular in wild flower season.

We had lunch overlooking Lucky Bay and watching the kangaroos sun baking on the beach and then moved onto my favourite place on earth - Hell Fire Bay.

Never before have I seen water so clear and the colours are amazing, the photos just don't do it justice.  The kids enjoyed a swim here despite the cool wind and the water being pretty cool they just couldn't help themselves, it looked too inviting.  This has to be by far one of the most beautiful places in the world - I could have stayed forever!!  We definitely have to come back here another time.  You can camp down almost on the beach in a couple of places in the National Park which I would love to try out!

We took nearly 200 photos today - picking the best ones for the blog was really difficult.

Wish you were here...
