Its starting to look a lot like Christmas

This morning we visited the Underwater Observatory at the end of the Jetty.  The Jetty is 1.8km long and is the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere.  You can catch the little train to the end or walk.  The train ride is very slow, bumpy and noisy but rather cute just the same.

The Observatory sits on the bottom of the ocean floor and surrounds the pilons at the end of the jetty.  When on the ocean floor you are about 8 metres deep.  The Observatory was made in Freemantle and floated down the coast.  We did the first tour of the day which had about 8 people on it - thankfully we chose that one as the tour following had 40 ish people on it.

There were crabs climbing amongst the corals and fish feeding.  Visibility was great and we enjoyed our time watching the fish, it was nice to know that is all natural and the fish are free to come and go as they please not captured in a fish tank like an aquarium.

We finished our tour of the observatory and then Dave and I walked back and the kids got the train.  We actually beat them back by a few minutes too.

They had been busting to go to the waterslide park so a quick change into their cossies and we were off.  Only problem was the waterslides broke yesterday so they were unable to go.  The lady their told us of a free one in the park just a short walk away so off we went - only problem was they won't be ready until 27 December - looks like we just weren't meant to waterslide at Busselton.

Headed to the foreshore for a swim in the beautiful water - honestly the water here is gorgeous we could be anywhere in the world - its simply stunning, more like a tropical island.  The colours of the water and the sand and the crystal clearness its not what we were expecting in WA.  The temperature was a little cool but once you were all wet it was quite nice.

As we're moving off again tomorrow it was time to get organised - shopping, washing etc.

Dave has been feeling very unChristmassy (is that a word) being away from home and also WA aren't very decorative when it comes to dressing up their houses, shopping centres etc other than the fact that its so busy in the shops you'd never know it was for Christmas so he went on the scout for some decorations for the van.

He came back with a 30cm high Christmas tree that flashes though a range of colours and a timber Merry Christmas sign.  Add to that the jelly decorations we have stuck on the door of the van and its starting to look a lot like Christmas.
